Lori Carmona, CEO of YWCA Greater Los Angeles (YWCA GLA) since November 2023, has dedicated her career to roles that directly impact and support people. Her journey, rooted in a passion for meaningful work and service, spans various roles in communications, management, and transformative leadership at organizations including the American Heart Association, and the March of Dimes. In her most recent role at AbilityFirst, she played a critical role in multi-million-dollar capital campaign development and led efforts to broadly increase the innovative services available to youth and adults with disabilities. This trajectory culminates in her current role at YWCA GLA, where she is passionately championing the organization’s mission to eliminate racism and empower women.

YWCA GLA’s innovative approach of co-creating community centers and housing with diverse stakeholders deeply resonates with Lori’s lifelong commitment to serving others. As CEO, she is building upon YWCA GLA’s 125+ year legacy of community-focused program development, aiming to amplify the organization’s impact on youth, families, and seniors. Fostering partnerships and collaborations to further the mission of transforming lives and fostering self-reliance, Lori is committed to leveraging the YWCA GLA’s dedicated team, generous supporters, and steadfast partners to strengthen communities throughout Los Angeles.
