Founded in 1894, the YWCA Greater Los Angeles (YWCA GLA) is a women’s membership movement built on the mission of ELIMINATING RACISM AND EMPOWERING WOMEN. We touch over 100,000 individuals annually through various programs that include affordable child-care, after-school youth programs, economic empowerment, job training and housing, and sexual assault crisis services. Additionally, we address racial justice and public policy, which are intertwined through all aspects of programs and service areas.
YWCA Greater Los Angeles is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that depends on the generosity of individuals, dedicated members, businesses, and foundations to offer vital programming and activities to the community. Our passion to create “Safe Spaces to Live, Learn, and Grow” can only become a reality through your selfless act of giving.
Join us in helping our community! You are doing good for others and the community, which provides a natural sense of accomplishment. Your role as a volunteer can also give you a sense of pride and identity.
