Director Sexual Assault Crisis Services
Sheetal Chib is the Director of Sexual Assault Crisis Services at YWCA Greater Los Angeles and identifies as an educator, advocate and clinician. Her area of expertise has been in providing crisis intervention, support and advocacy, and individual and group therapy to survivors of sexual assault, dating/intimate partner violence, domestic violence, stalking, domestic human sex trafficking and other forms of interpersonal and gender-based violence within the college and community settings. She currently oversees three rape crisis centers in Los Angeles County and a satellite office at California State University Long Beach.
She has a passion for prevention and education as well and has led numerous presentations on understanding the dynamics of gender-based violence and supporting survivors, campus sexual violence, rape culture and the influence of media and society, body image and developing self-worth, dating in the modern world, and cultivating healthy relationships.
Ms. Chib has been a panel member and presenter at events such as the Joint Legislative Oversight Hearing for the Assembly Committee on Higher Education and Campus Climate in 2015 and the CALCASA Statewide Conference in 2017. Ms. Chib also currently sits on the President’s Title IX Advisory Board for California State University Long Beach. In addition, Ms. Chib has prior experience providing behavioral and therapeutic support to adults with disabilities in the community and college settings.
Sheetal Chib received a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine. Sheetal Chib is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and a certified sexual assault counselor in the State of California.
