Jennifer Manfrè manages the Engagement Team for Southern California Edison’s Local Public Affairs Department, supervising a team of coalition specialists, research analysts and social media strategists. Her team helps the company engage with civic and community leaders in support of the company’s projects and policies, such as environmental justice, grid modernization and transportation electrification. She joined the company in 2011 in the corporate communications department and has managed the media relations, social media and web teams, and has also worked on communications efforts behind electricity rates, reliability and outage communications and emergency response.
Prior to SCE, Jennifer served as the associate director of communications at the Milken Institute where she managed executive media outreach focused on economic-impact issues and capital investment in health, clean energy and food-scarcity solutions. She has also led public affairs and crisis management campaigns for Fortune 100 companies and public agencies at public relations firms.
Earlier, Jennifer served as a captain in the U.S. Army and deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1997 to work with the World Bank and the United States Agency for International Development in support of infrastructure rebuilding and ethnic tolerance. She also served as a military police officer and deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in 1995 in support of humanitarian aid to migrants from Haiti and Cuba.
Jennifer has a bachelor’s degree from Scripps College and a master’s in public administration from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She is a graduate of the Coro Fellows program in Public Affairs and earned her Gold Award as a Girl Scout.
